The course of "Endocrinology" (MED/13) aims to provide students with the basic notions on the fundamental principles of the functioning of the endocrine system. The causes and pathophysiological mechanisms of the main diseases of the endocrine system and metabolism will also be evaluated, with particular attention to the influence of food and nutrients on the activities of the endocrine system.
For the course "Practical aspects of nutritition in Internal medicine" (MED/09), the aims are: Acquire a detailed knowledge of nutrients and food groups. Acquire the ability to assess the nutritional status and the eating habits of healthy subjects and patients with relevant disorders in the setting of Internal Medicine. Knowing the practical aspects of nutrition under specific physiological and pathological conditions.
For the course "Practical aspects of nutrition in cardiology" (MED/11), the aims are: 1. To provide the scientific basis for understanding the role of nutrition in cardiovascular physiology and pathology. 2. To provide the skills for appropriate nutritional interventions based on scientific evidence in cardiovascular risk factors and diseases.
For the course "Practical aspects of nutrition in eating disorders" (MED/25), the aims are: Know the classification and epidemiology of eating and nutrition disorders (DNA) based on symptomatological criteria (DSM-V) • Know the characteristics of DNA below threshold • Know how to evaluate the nutritional status and body composition in DNA • Know the nutritional requirements in physiological conditions and assess the balance between nutrients introduced and energy expenditure in DNA • Know how to interpret an impedance analysis and a stratigraphy of the subcutaneous in DNA • Know dietary behavior in DNA and nutritional rehabilitation techniques in anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder • Knowing the basics of nutritional counseling in DNA • Know the importance of the therapeutic alliance of the different health figures and their respective skills in nutritional rehabilitation in DNA
