The aim of the module is to provide students with a practical grammatical, lexical and phonetic analysis of realistic, colloquial and up-to-date dialogues in clinical settings. The module also seeks to establish an awareness in students of the essential role English phonetics plays in medical science.

Pre-operative patient assessment 8. Post-operative patient assessment 9. Patient discharge 10. Breathing problems 11. Communicating 12. Personal care 13. Elimination 14. Eating and drinking 15. Mobility 16. Wound care 17. Sexuality and gynaecology 18. Medical imaging 19. Heart problems 20. Diabetes care 21. Intravenous infusions 22. Cancer treatment Students will also be given the chance to practise the language of both telephone conversations and oral presentations.
